I live in the Seattle area and in a newer neighborhood. I looked in a gardening manual about how to get rid of a fairy ring and why we have one. The book said it is common in newer neighborhoods to get one of these because someone left wood underneath the soil and it has started to decompose and change the acidity of the soil. However, the book did not give us suggestions on how to get rid of it and it hinted towards there being no solution. Does anyone know of a way to get rid of a fairy ring? It is quite huge and very noticable and ugly. We know it’s not from drainage because there are no mushrooms in the area the water drains. It is definately a visible ring and there are no mushrooms growing outside or inside of the ring. Please help
Mowing over or pulling the mushrooms does nothing (or eating them…they are probably poisonous anyways.) They just continue to come up only a few days later.
