I remember a scene from a science fiction film/TV show that I must have watched when I was a very young child and yet I am not sure of the name of the show which has been bothering me for the past 20 years. These two soldiers rescue this old man from a spaceship in the midst of some kind of battle on a barren planet. They take the old man to the top of a crater, when he signals for them to stop, removing a wooden ring from underneath his clothes, he continues to the top without them. The two soldiers look on, confused.

Holding the wooden ring straight above his head, he vanishes in a flash!

My only thoughts are a cheesy science fiction film or the original battlestar galatica. I may have even dreamed it

It’s about a girl [Sarah] who has run away from home. How is the language used well? How is the punctuation used well? I know that the cliff-hanger is good but I want something a bit more than that - something interesting..?

Some couples decide to have a part of their wedding vows engraved on their wedding rings. Another popular idea is to incorporate something from the wedding theme (if you had one). The name of the resort or town where you are honeymooning perhaps? Your pet names for each other, or even the name of the restaurant for your first date.

The engraved wedding band is not just limited to words on the inner side of the band. Some couples are electing to have longer inscriptions on the edge of their band or on the outer side (this would have to be re engraved as the ring wore down). Some specialized jewelers are even engraving inscriptions on diamonds. These are not usually obvious to the ***** eye, and are more costly, but do allow for identification of your stone if it is ever stolen.

Check on the time frame for the engraving to be done. This can vary from one day to a month. Prices can fluctuate between $1 per letter to almost $10 depending on whether the engraving is done by hand or machine, and the degree of embellishment you require. It is also probably a great idea if you are able to see any of the jeweler’s other engraving handiwork. If your jeweler seems hesitant, or disinterested find another who does specialize in wedding band engraving.

Your own inscriptions will be on your wedding rings forever. If the words are on the inside, none else will generally be reading them, allowing for a little more privacy. However, if you opt for an external wedding ring inscription, you will need to remember that others will be able to read it as well. Your pet nicknames may not look like quite such a great idea in another 20 or 30 years.

When I got married, we made this Lord of the Rings parody to play at our rehearsal dinner. We had a lot of fun putting people from the wedding into the movie. Some of it may not make sense because we used inside jokes that our family and friends would understand. So, enjoy the parts you like and ignore the parts that don’t make sense, and keep in mind that we shot this over the course of three Saturdays with only a few weeks to edit. Also, no person in this movie has ever claimed to be a actor.
